Lorenzo Ottaviani is the author of Travel Italia™: The Golden
Age of Italian Travel Posters

He is also the co-author of the acclaimed architectural book Midcentury House Today published worldwide by Phaidon Monacelli.

 

Born and raised in Rome, Italy, Lorenzo is a graduate of Istituto Europeo di Design in Rome, where he studied with Pier Paolo Scalera, Franco Zeri,
and Bonifacio Pontonio.

 

Lorenzo began his design career at the renowned studio
of Pier Paolo Scalera, assisting Mr. Scalera in creating some of the most iconic Italian movie posters.

 

Lorenzo furthered his studies
at School of Visual Arts in New York with two of the most celebrated American masters of graphic design: Tony Palladino (PSYCHO) and Milton Glaser
(I LOVE NY).

 

In New York he founded his
own design practice
Lorenzo Ottaviani Design.

 

His work has been recognized with numerous design awards including the prestigious Graphis Award in multiple design categories.

 

Lorenzo also leads the graphic design and publishing efforts of some of the best contemporary architects such as Rafael Viñoly for whom he curated and designed books, monographs,  and websites.

 

Lorenzo resides in the New York area with his wife Gay, a group psychotherapist.
